Help fill Santa’s Sack with your donation of a new toy for a needy child!

Wear your pajamas just like the children on the Polar Express!

Sponsored by the West Palm Beach Library Foundation.

I walked in and there they were…colorful, diverse, unique, and full of adventure.  New books!  I get so excited and joyful when we get a cart full of books.  And how can I forget how curious I am when they arrive.  I want to curl up in a corner and spend quality time with each, getting to know them one by one, so when you come along looking for your perfect book, I can recommend it with the experience of having read it.  Here is just a taste of the new books that recently arrived:

Why? The best ever question and answer book about nature, science and the world around you by Catherine Ripely

Family fun nights: 140 activities the whole family will enjoy by Lisa Bany-Winters

Insectigations!: 40 hands-on activities to explore the insect world by Cindy Blobaum

The Christmas sweater by Glen Beck

Buying, training & caring for your dinosaur by Laura Joy Rennert

Fancy Nancy splendiferous Christmas by Jane O’Connor

Babies don’t eat pizza: the big kid’s book about baby brothers and baby sisters by Dianne Danzig

The case of the gasping garbage: and other super scientific cases by Michele Torrey

~Remember, Reading is Awesome!

holiday_title_art2Many people celebrate Christmas during this season, but have you ever thought about the other holidays that take place or do you celebrate another holiday?????

It is important to be aware of other cultural celebrations and rituals that are different from your own.  Many people celebrate Christmas, Chanukah (Hanukkah), Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr, Kwanzaa, Diwali, and many more during this season.

Always remember, though you may celebrate the same holiday as someone else, everyone celebrates holidays differently around the world because of cultural traditions/rituals.  Neither is better or worse, it is simply different.

For more information about these holidays or if you just want to learn about world holidays, come visit KidSpace at the West Palm Beach Public Library.

Dear Santa,

santaIt is Friday and I am still trying to figure out my list.  Yes, I know its crunch time and I should have had my list to you at least two weeks ago to give you some time to fit it inside your sleigh, but my mind has changed so many times (does that happen to you sometimes?).  Well today, after months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds of pondering, I finally know what I want.  All I want is one thing and I don’t even think you can fit it in your sleigh, but here it goes anyway.  I will like my family to be all together for Christmas because I miss the fun we have when we all get together (especially my goofy cousins).  So Santa, if it is not too late to get this huge gift, please deliver it (I’d really prefer them not to go down the chimney since my Uncle suffers for sever asthma).

                                           Thanks Santa,

Sincerely,

I Believe

P.S. I promise to be early next year.
