Mark's Animals 005Thanks to artists Mark Leahy, the next time you visit KidSpace you will see a majestic jungle as part of our decor!

Mr. Leahy works with The Young Singers of the Palm Beaches as a Visual/Scenic Designer.  In their successful spring production, in May 2009 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Act One was brought to a colorful conclusion with the song, Circle of Lifefrom the musical, The Lion King.  Mark's Animals 008For this number, Mark Leahy, together with the deft assistance of Peggy Duncan, created playful and majestic jungle animals as a homage to children’s book collage artist, Eric Carle.

In the field of scenic design, Mr. Leahy has created sets for such shows as Godspell, The Pirates of Penzance, and Carnival.  In collaboration with his brother, Dan Leahy, they have created many original theatre projects and modern dance productions.  His passion for theatre also includes directing, writing and producing. He has designed parties, fund raisers, and weddings.  Mr. Leahy is also an installation artist and private yoga instructor!  Yes, this West Palm Beach native wears many hats!

Mr. Leahy is currently out of the country co-directing an original children’s musical in Sweden.  You can contact Mark Leahy via e-mail at: peacemark1000@yahoo.com.
