Moms opening up their own businesses!

on:I have had the pleasure to meet some very creative, talented and dedicated moms that have come into my library and I even have a fair amount of relatives that are equally creative and talented (you know who you are)! These women have taken experiences from mommyhood and have created viable, successful and enviro-friendly businesses. Here are a few of the businesses that I have seen around:
Chi Chi Amor: Children’s Clothes: Two mommies offering unique and adorable hand-made children’s clothing made from pieces of recycled fabrics from the huipil and corte, the traditional shirt and skirt of indigenous Mayan women of Guatemala.
Beelu: An inventive (and comfy) feeding pillow for parents on the go!
Katydid Designs: This is a young lady that started her business right out of college… I’ve actually purchased a belt from her!
Little Forever: Handcrafted fine silver jewelry that features your child’s fingerprint.
Moxie Design Studios: I love tech-savvy mommies!

A great place to sell handmade items is Etsy.com. Check out my boyfriend’s crafy sister’s company called Starbugaloo Designs on Etsy at http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5189178.
